WORLD TRIALS OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP 2005
!
You gain your balance on your trials bike at the bottom of a steep, sheer cliff. The observer has his fist raised, the section is clear. You take a deep breath, adrenaline flowing, and focus on the seemingly impossible task ahead, listening to the instructions and encouragement from your spotter. You rev the engine and engage the clutch and then fly up the hill, tyres biting once, twice and then you are over the crest and onto the next section… Welcome to the world of the 2005 World Outdoor Trials Championship, arguably the most mentally and physically demanding of all the trials competitions. The lead for the championship was tight this year as Takahisa ‘Fujigas’ Fujinami battled to defend his title against the awesome skills of Adam Raga, Dougie Lampkin and Albert Cabestany. The championship lead changed with virtually every round as the competitors travelled across the globe to Portugal, Spain, Japan, the USA, Andorra, France, Italy, Germany and Belgium. The action is captured from every conceivable angle, as the riders tackle the rugged terrain of the courses set up in forests, on riverbanks, on racetracks, even on the seashore!
WORLD TRIALS COMPETITION 2006
!
This review covers all ten WTC rounds in stages from Japan to the USA, using multiple cameras to capture riders technical triumphs and some spectacular crashes. See Takahisa Fujinami hit the rocks before sweeping to victory, Albert caberstany's magical manoeuvres in Spain and displays of balance and technical skill from the 60 championship crown contenders. Full commentary accompanies each rider as they encounter rugged rocks, icy-cold streams, mud-caked ravines and a sizzling hot stage in poland. Reigning champion Adam Raga managed to keep his cool throughout, achieving a second consecutive world championship win followed closely by Fujinami and Cabestany. Briton Dougie Lampkin showed promise in the early stages but struggled to make the podium against tough competition
